To be clear, in general, scholars tend to lump the synoptic gospels into one tradition. Mark, Q, Matthew, and Luke. Appearing in only one source (except for Q which we don't have) does not automatically make it inauthentic, but it certainly places a heavier load on the existence of other evidence.
