Thank you James! I agree with everything you said here. I’d caveat tho that well into the 5th century, what we consider “Christianity” was still very much in doubt. There were prominent Christians who rejected Paul’s views. They ultimately lost to the establishment, as Pauline Christianity became the tools of empire and the “opiate of the masses.”
