I think two things. One, we should distinguish between politics as social activism and awareness vs. politics as explictily "political" activities relating dircetly to Washington-type politics. One can be Progressively political by advocating for medicare for all healthcare without resorting to mudslinging and agreesive political activity. Second, we must also remember Jesus turned over tables in the temple in an act of rage against the ruling class. I think may of us feel that rage today when we think of the 37.2 million Americans living in poverty or the 26 million Americans without health insurance.
